applications of recycled PET fabrics

The difference between  RPET polyester  and conventional polyester

Recycled polyester, also called RPET, makes use of recycled environmental protection fiber raw materials recovered from Coke bottles, which are rolled into fragments and processed by wire extraction.is the first step towards a recyclable material use, i.e. a waste product, in this case PET beverage bottles, becomes a recyclable material that can be used to produce new products. This prevents these bottles from pointlessly ending up in a landfill or, in the far worse case, in our environment, where they take around 450 years to biodegrade.
Polyester is a man-made fabric, and not a natural fabric like cashmere, silk or cotton. Polyester is an umbrella term for any fabric or textile that has been spun from polyester yarn or fibres. It is produced by mixing ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. This means that polyester is a kind of plastic. It is one of the most used fabric types for fashion, design and interior decoration. It is popular for its durability, resistance and versatility.

What IS PU Coating On Fabric

It’s commonly known as “poly-coating,” but PU coating is polyurethane applied to the surface of a fabric. Polyurethane is a type of polymer. A polymer is a synthetic compound made from petroleum residue. PU coating on fabric is the best option to ensure the material doesn’t get ruined. PU coating on fabrics like polyester, nylon, cotton and leather act as a base material on one side of the material. It’s a protective film that’s usually applied to one side of the material.
Fabrics that have PU coating are more lightweight, water-resistant, and flexible. The protective PU coating on fabric is single-coated when it occurs on one side of the material. It can also be multi-coated when it’s applied to both. Sometimes polyurethane is applied to polyester. But most of the time the polyblend material has been heat-laminated.
