BAUME OCEAN watch equipped with SEAQUAL® YARN strap

The BAUME OCEAN Limited Edition watch is assembled with an interchangeable strap in SEAQUAL® YARN, made with SEAQUAL upcycled marine plastic. The gray SEAQUAL strap features blue or green overstitching, trimmed with black along the edge and lined with natural cork for optimal comfort in wear.

The BAUME OCEAN watch is the industrial masterpiece by distinctive collaboration between Baume & Mercier and SEAQUAL INITIATIVE and the NGO WFO (Waste Free Oceans). It is the first signature Baume creation since the brand was officially integrated into the Baume & Mercier family in May 2020.

The 42mm case is crafted using a recycled plastic cap produced by the NGO WFO, a historical partner of BAUME; and the case is then sheathed in blue or green anodized aluminum. The cap is made up of 80% recycled plastic gathered by the partner NGO Waste Free Oceans and reinforced with 20% glass fibers to increase its resistance.

There is a smoky black particle-polished dial under the 42mm case, with blue or green hands, which is accompanied by liveliness. The calendar window at 6 o’clock is round and looks very cute. On the dial scale, it is also very individual. The outer big circle is the minute scale of “10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60”, and the inner small circle is the hour scale of “02, 04, 06, 08, 10, 12”. “Careful Thoughts in Design Sense”

The position of the crown is placed at the 12 o’clock position, which is also a rare design in a watch and reminds of a pocket watch. This fusion of retro and innovation gives it a unique charm.
